The purpose of this Web site is to provide a new perspective on world history.  Existing accounts of world history leave many questions unanswered and do not provide a coherent picture of what actually happened.  This site is meant to be thought provoking and serve as a guide for further research, particularly genetic testing which can substantiate my theses.  

In this paper I deviate from the normal format in which papers are written.  I use almost entirely direct quotes to establish my points with a small amount of comments to let the reader come to their own conclusion since this is the method subject to the least amount of distortion.  The original footnotes I used when I first wrote this paper have been lost.  Direct quotes followed by numbers are taken from the sources listed in the bibliography in no particular order; the page numbers from those sources are also missing.  Anyone interested in the ancient world should read these sources in entirety because they are very interesting and contain additional material to support my points.  Direct quotes that are not followed by numbers are taken from Wikipedia articles whose Wikipedia titles are listed in the bibliography.   

Many historians look back at the ancient world and create theories of what did and did not exist without ever trying to correlate them to the real world which we live in.  I only make a few simple assumptions – genetic change is a very slow process and cultural change is more often from population shifts rather than isolated evolutionary events.  Many of the cultural works and administrative responsibilities in the ancient world were too complicated to be done by so many different peoples, it takes time to develop such skill.  Rather than viewing the ancient world as a collection of discrete and unrelated events I view history as a continuum of interrelated events.  With this view I think we should keep one thing in mind:      

The world is a very small place and the ancient world is even smaller.
